Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of what I do and is the reason I stumbled into this journey in the first place, as I struggled to find products that were both plastic-free and natural. Below we've listed our ethos and values that will hopefully answer any sustainability questions you may have, but if there is anything we've missed please feel free to email any questions to hello@onlythegoodstuffuk.co.uk.

Packaging

I have sourced plastic-free packaging for almost every single one of our products.  The only exception is the double sided tape used on my Two Piece Mini Shower Steamer Sets. Unfortunately a plastic free alternative is not readily available, although I have been informed by one of my packaging suppliers that they are working on it!

The kraft pouches used for the cleaning products are fully compostable right down to the inner protective lining and resealable press closing.

The clear bath fizz pouches and toilet bomb bags are also fully compostable as well as being recyclable. They are made from cellulose film and PLA which is a biodegradable material made from renewable plant based material such as corn and sugarcane.

My labels are made from recycled paper, which can be recycled again, and printed with vegan printer inks that are also certified for compostability.

Essential Oils

I choose only to use essential oils in our products instead of fragrance oils, which are synthetically made in a lab and often contain harmful chemicals.  Most of the essential oils I use are extracted by steam distillation, a process where hot steam is passed through raw plant materials.  The heat from the steam serves to vapourise the plant materials volatile compounds. This process is considered cleaner and more environmentally friendly than other methods of extraction.

Please remember that even natural products like essential oils can contain allergens and have warnings if not used in the correct way. These can be seen on our product labels.

Natural ingredients

You'll find lots of natural ingredients in our products from bicarbonate of soda and dried flower petals to epsom salts and corn starch.

Please remember that even natural products can contain allergens and have warnings if not used in the correct way. These can be seen on our product labels.

Location

Our products are handmade right here in the UK, in Lancashire.
